■昨夜は医師会館で学校検診の再開について教育委員会担当者と会談を持ちました。コロナウイルス感染のために延期されていた学校検診を、どのように実施するかの検討会です。
いつもの年ですと今頃には、すべての学校検診が終わっているのですが、今年はコロナウイルスの関係で順延になっていました。教育委員会の方のお話では、検診の際に使用する手袋や消毒用のアルコールなどが、まだ完全に準備できていないようですし、予算もこれから検討するというお話でした。
アベノマスクではありませんが、一体いつになったら準備ができるのか、難しい問題です。
■今朝も走りました。いつものコースを6.16km走り、今月は昨日に続いて2回のランで12.26kmを積み重ね、100キロまで残り87.73kmとなりました。7時4分現在、雨が降っていますが、私が走り出した5時頃には地面は濡れていたものの、雨は止んでいました。ラッキーでした。
もうすぐ梅雨に入りますので、走ることのできる朝は毎日でも走っておかないと、100キロを積み重ねるのは容易ではありません。
■さて先日の東京新聞「昭和遠近 短歌に見る時代相 島田修三」ではアメリカ映画について書かれています、副題は「旧敵国の抗えない魅力」です。
歌人の島田修三さんが書かれていますが、子どもの頃家には「キネマ旬報」や雑誌「スクリーン」などの映画雑誌が揃っていたそうです。映画好きのお父さんが定期購読をしていたのです。キネマ旬報は子どもには難し過ぎましたが、雑誌SCREENには新作映画の印象的なカットや美男美女スターのグラビアが掲載されており眺めるだけでも楽しかった、と書かれています。全盛期のジョン・ウェインやエリザベス・テイラーの顔も薄っすらと記憶に残っているそうです。
21回目のこの連載で登場する映画は、「モロッコ」、「カサブランカ」、そして「アパートの鍵貸します」です。どの映画も見ましたが、個人的にはジャック・レモン主演の「アパートの鍵貸します」が、お好みです。
ビリー・ワイルダー監督の作品は、どれも小粋で洗練されていて魅力的です。ハリウッドの映画人がほとんどそうであるように、ビリー・ワイルダー監督もヨーロッパからの移民だったと思います。
さまざまな文化が融合し合って新しい文化を作り上げるという意味では、まさに文化のるつぼがハリウッドではないでしょうか。そうした強みがアメリカにはありました。
コロナ後の世界で果たしてアメリカはどのような国となっていくのでしょうか。そんな点でもコロナ後の世界は大変興味深いものです。

■ I ran this morning. I ran 6.16km on the usual course, and this month, 12.26km was piled up by two runs following yesterday, and 87.73km was left up to 100km. As of 7:04, it was raining, but at 5 o’clock when I started running, the ground was wet but the rain had stopped. I was lucky.
The rainy season will soon begin, so it is not easy to stack 100 kilometers unless you run every day in the morning when you can.
■ By the way, the other day, the Tokyo Shimbun, “Showa Perspective: The Age Aspect in Tanka Shuzo Shimada,” describes an American movie. The subtitle is “Old enemy’s unbearable charm.”
Shuzo Shimada wrote that when he was a child, he had movie magazines such as “Kinema Junpo” and “Screen” magazines at home. A movie dad had a subscription. Kinema Shunpo was too difficult for children, but he wrote that the magazine SCREEN has an impressive cut of a new movie and a gravure of a beautiful and beautiful star and it was fun just to watch. The faces of John Wayne and Elizabeth Taylor during their heyday are faintly remembered.
The movies that appear in the 21st series are “Morocco”, “Casablanca”, and “The Apartment”. I’ve seen all the movies, but I personally prefer “The Apartment” starring Jack Lemmon.
Each of Billy Wilder’s films is stylish, sophisticated and attractive. I think that Billy Wilder was also an immigrant from Europe, as most Hollywood filmmakers do.
Hollywood is the melting pot of culture in the sense that various cultures fuse together to create a new culture. There were such strengths in the United States.
What kind of country will America become in the post-corona world? In that respect, the world after Corona is very interesting.
