■今朝は走りました。昨日は前半、雨の中、そして後半は晴天の中をゴルフをし、夕食は鶴ちゃん夫婦と月に1回のディナーを楽しみました。
もう疲労困憊でしたので、夜10時前には床に入り休みました。起きられるかどうか心配だったのですが、今朝はいつも通り5時に起きて準備体操の後走り始めました。体が重くてまいりましたが、いつものコースを6.07km走り、これで今月は9回のランで64.68kmを積み重ねました。月100キロ走達成まで、残り11日で35.31kmのところまで来ました。
当然のことながら、今朝は体が重く起き出すのも一苦労でしたが、走り始めてからも、とにかくゆっくりで良いから最後まで走ろうと、それだけを心がけて走り続けました。
もう今日で7月20日です。もうそろそろ梅雨明けが宣言されてもおかしくありませんが、まだまだ雨は降り続くようです。今朝は少し薄い雲が出てきましたけれども青空も見え、しかも蝉時雨が鳴り止みません。
■さて、今朝の東京新聞読者欄には「リニアの必要性に疑問」と題して投稿されています。
コロナウイルス後の社会において、はたしてリニア新幹線が必要なのかどうか、疑問を投げかけているのです。
その中で、産業技術総合研究所の安部修治氏の調査結果が書かれています。時速500キロで走るリニア新幹線は強い空気抵抗に抗って進むため、乗客一人当たりのエネルギーを新幹線のぞみ号の3倍以上消費するようです。
自動車産業では燃費改善の努力を続ける中、鉄道業界では効率が格段に悪くなる技術に巨費を投じていることになります。確かに自動車産業では、いかに省エネで車を動かすかということに莫大な投資をしている訳ですが、鉄道業界はその全く真逆を行っている訳です。
車で言えば、未だに昔のアメ車のような車ばかりを開発しているようなものです。誰もそんな車に乗る人はいないでしょう。官公庁の車をプリウスからキャデラックに替えるようなものです。
指摘されてみるとリニア新幹線の時代錯誤感が容易に理解できます。未だに高度成長時代の夢を追いかけているような違和感を感じます。
そうした時代とのズレを認識した時、あるいは明らかになった時に社会がどう対応できるのか、ということが問題です。社会に柔軟性がないと、いつまでたっても戦艦ヤマトばかりを作り続けるような社会になってしまいます。
先に待ち構えているのは敗戦という悲惨な状況ばかりになります。今こそ立ち止まって、しっかり考え直すことが必要です。
I ran this morning. Yesterday we played golf in the first half, in the rain, and in the second half in fine weather, and enjoyed dinner with the Tsuru-chan couple once a month.
I was already tired, so I went to bed before 10 pm and took a rest. I was worried if I could get up, but this morning I got up at 5 o’clock as usual and started running after the gymnastics. Although my body was getting heavy, I ran 6.07km on the usual course, and this month, I accumulated 64.68km in 9 runs. I have reached the point of 35.31km in 11 days until I reach 100km a month.
Naturally, it was a hard time getting up this morning this morning. Even after I started running, I kept running with the intention of running slowly to the end.
It’s already July 20th today. It’s not strange that the end of the rainy season should be declared, but it seems that it will continue to rain. Although a slightly thin cloud came out this morning, I could see the blue sky and hear cicada rain.

In the post-coronavirus society, we are wondering if we really need a linear bullet train.
In it, the research results of Mr. Shuji Abe of AIST are written. The Linear Shinkansen, which runs at a speed of 500 km/h, travels against strong air resistance, so it seems that it consumes more than three times the energy per passenger as the Shinkansen Nozomi.
While the automobile industry continues to make efforts to improve fuel efficiency, the railway industry is spending a huge amount of money on technology that makes it much less efficient. Certainly, the automobile industry is making a huge investment in how to drive cars with energy savings, but the railway industry is doing exactly the opposite.
Speaking of cars, it’s like developing only cars like old American cars. No one will drive such a car. It’s like switching a government car from a Prius to a Cadillac.
If you point it out, you can easily understand the anachronism of the Linear Shinkansen. I still feel the sense of incongruity that JR is chasing after the dream of the high growth era.
The problem is how society can respond when it recognizes the gap with such times or when it becomes clear. If society is not flexible, it will become a society where only battleship Yamato will continue to be made forever.
Only the tragic situation of defeat is waiting ahead. Now is the time to stop and rethink.
