■今朝はゆっくりと休みました。昨日はメラトニン関連睡眠誘導剤のおかげで、体が一日中思うように動かず、本当にだるい一日でした。昨夜は、いつもの睡眠導入剤を服用して休みましたので、夜中にお手洗いに行ったものの、熟睡感の得られた一晩でした。やはり私にはこの薬が一番合っているようです。
さて天気予報では、今日は午後から大荒れの天候になりそうです。明日の日曜日は回復するとのことなので、まぁのんびりと一日を過ごすことにしましょう。
■今朝の東京新聞を読むと、色々と気になる記事が出ていました。今日の社説では、「法が終わり、暴政が」と題して、検察庁法改正案について書かれています。
政権による特例人事を認める検察庁法改正案の成立を、与党は強行しようとしています。新型コロナウイルスで国民が七転八倒の苦しみの中にある時に、なぜそれほど急いで成立させなければいけないのか。こうした場合、その多くの原因が、やましさであることがほとんどです。
検事総長や検事長など検察幹部だった OB たちが15日、こんな言葉とともに、同改正案に反対する意見書を法務省に提出しました。
ルイ14世の『朕は国家である』との言葉を彷彿とさせるような姿勢である。
高名な政治思想家ジョン・ロックは『法が終わるところ、暴政が始まる』と警告している。心すべき言葉である。
検事総長や検事長など検察官部だったOBの皆さんが、法務省が提出した法案に反対するのは異例中の異例の出来事です。
検察OBの皆さんが指摘しているのは「今回の法改正は、検察の人事に政治権力が介入することを正当化し、政権の意に沿わない検察の動きを封じ込め、検察の力を削ぐことを意図していると考えられる」。
検察OBたちはズバリ法案の意図を読んでいる、と社説には書かれています。
100歩譲って、安倍総理に検察OBの皆さんが心配するような意図が全く無かったとしても、多くの国民が疑念を抱くことは間違いありません。
「李下に冠を正さず」という言葉があります。スモモの木の下で冠をかぶり直そうとして手をあげると、実を盗むのかと疑われるから、そこでは直すべきではない、という意味の言葉で、人から疑いをかけられるような行いは避けるべきである、ということのたとえ、とあります。
記者団が安倍総理に上記の意図が法改正にはあるのではないか、という疑念が国民の間にあるのですが、と質問すると、安倍総理は、「それは下衆の勘繰りだ」と答えていました。これまでの行いを見ていれば、どちらがゲスなのかは殆どの国民は容易に判断がつきそうです。
戦後75年を経て、私たち日本国民が到達した終着駅こそが、安倍内閣なのです。このことは、どれほど深刻に考えても、考えすぎることはない、と私には思えるのです。戦後日本の民主主義の到達点なのですから。

I had a good rest this morning. Yesterday was a really lazy day as my body didn’t move as I wanted all day due to the melatonin-related sleep inducer. Last night I took my usual sleep inducer and rested, so although I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, it was a night of feeling a good night’s sleep. After all, this medicine seems to be the best for me.
Well, the weather forecast is calling for some pretty rough weather this afternoon. The weather will recover tomorrow, Sunday, so we’ll take it easy and spend the day.
When I read the Tokyo Shimbun this morning, there were many articles that bothered me. In today’s editorial, titled “The Law Is Over, Tyranny Is Coming,” he writes about the proposed amendments to the Prosecutor’s Office Law.
The ruling party is trying to force the passage of a bill to amend the Prosecutor’s Office Law to allow special appointments by the administration. Why should it be enacted so hastily when the public is in the throes of a new coronavirus? In most of these cases, the cause of most of them is guilt.
Former senior prosecutors, including the Attorney General and the Superintending Prosecutor, submitted an opinion to the Ministry of Justice on the 15th, along with the following statements, in opposition to the proposed amendment
It is a posture reminiscent of Louis XIV’s ” I am the state.”
Renowned political thinker John Locke warned, “Where the law ends, tyranny begins. These are words that should be taken to heart.
It is an unusual and unusual event that the Attorney General and the Superintending Prosecutor, and other former members of the Prosecutor’s Department oppose a bill introduced by the Ministry of Justice.

The editorial says that the former prosecutors have read the bill’s intent very clearly.
Even if Abe had no intentions at all that would cause the former prosecutors to worry, there is no doubt that many of the public would have doubts.
There is a saying, “The crown is not righted under Lee.” It is a metaphor for the avoidance of any act that might cause suspicion from others, which means that if you put up your hand to put up your crown under a plum tree, you should not fix it there because people will suspect you of stealing the fruit.
When reporters asked Abe if there was any suspicion among the public that the above intentions were present in the amendment of the law, he replied, “That’s just a hunch.” It seems that most of the public can easily determine which one is the guilty one by looking at what they have done so far.
Seventy-five years after the end of the war, the Abe Cabinet is the final destination for the Japanese people. It seems to me that no matter how serious you think about this, you can never overthink it. This is the point of democracy in post-war Japan.
