■20210202（火曜日：雨） Witch hunting
■今朝はゆっくりと休みました。昨日の天気予報でも今日の午前中までは雨とのことでしたので、目覚まし時計を5時半に合わせて、布団の中でウトウトとしていました。
昨夜はSunがNonちゃんと一緒に三津の温泉旅館に出かけました。自分だけで夕飯を作り、お風呂に入って、のんびりと一人で時を過ごしました。
ヒッチコック監督の「鳥」を観ました。鳥たちが突然人間を襲ってくる、あの物語です。まだコンピューターグラフィックスなど無かった時代でしょうから、撮影には相当の苦労があったはずです。
サスペンスの巨匠といわれるヒッチコック監督だけあって、背筋（せすじ）が寒くなるような場面が幾度も出てきます。特に私の印象に残った場面は、レストランでの住民たちのやりとりです。
次々と異常な鳥の行動が報告され恐怖を感じた子供の母親が、よそ者である主人公のメラニーを、そうした異常現象の元凶なのだ、「お前が魔女なのだ」と罵る場面です。
新型コロナウイルスによる世界的大流行、つまりパンデミックが起こっていますが、こうした異常な集団心理状態のもとで、きっと魔女狩りが始まったに違いありません。
魔女狩りは遠い中世の昔の話だけでは、決してないはずです。はっきりした原因がわからず、不安が多くの人々を支配している状況では、誰かをその原因として生贄（いけにえ）にしないと治（おさま）らないのが人間心理というものなのでしょう。
どれだけ多くの人々が、こうした異常な集団心理状態のもとで犠牲になったかは想像もできません。決して遠い昔の物語ではないことを、この映画は教えてくれています。
I took a rest this morning. As the weather forecast yesterday, it was raining until this morning, so I set the alarm clock to 5:30 and kept it in the futon without getting up.
Last night Sun went to a hot spring inn in Mito with Non-chan. I cooked my own supper, took a bath, and spent time alone.
I saw Hitchcock’s “Bird”. That story is about birds suddenly attacking humans. It must have been a lot of trouble to shoot because it was an era when there was no computer graphics yet.
There is only director Hitchcock, who is said to be a suspense master, and there are many scenes where the spine gets cold. One of the most memorable scenes was the interaction of the residents at the restaurant.
It is a scene in which the mother of a child who was frightened by reports of abnormal bird behavior one after another accused Melanie, the hero of the stranger, as the cause of such an abnormal phenomenon, “You are a witch.”
A pandemic caused by the new coronavirus is occurring, but under such an abnormal group psychological state, witch hunting must have begun.
Witch hunting should never be the story of the distant medieval times. In a situation where anxiety dominates many people without knowing the exact cause, human psychology may not be cured unless someone is sacrificed as the cause.
It is hard to imagine how many people were sacrificed under these unusual groups of psychology. The movie tells us that it’s not a story from a long time ago.
