■今朝は2021年最初のランニングをしました。目覚ましを5時に合わせ、時間少し前に目が覚めましたが、目覚ましで起き出し準備運動の後いつものようにスタートしました。
今日は小学校の校庭を35分間タイマーをかけて走りました。今日は新年第1回のランで8.33 km を走りました。月100 km 走までは残り29日で91.66 km となっています。
■今日と明日は箱根駅伝が行われます。今7時32分ですが、早めに切り上げてテレビの前に向かい二人で観戦する予定です。
昨年の今頃は宿を出て、小涌園前の交差点のところへ向かって二人で歩いて行った記憶があります。昨年は箱根に宿が取れたのです。
初日は登ってくる選手たちをみますので、それほどスピードが出るわけではありませんので、ゆっくりと選手たちを見ることができますが、二日目の下りは本当にあっという間に駆け抜けていってしまいます。
幸い昨年も雪が降ることはありませんでしたので、寒さの中でも大勢の人たちと一緒に楽しく観戦することができました。小涌園前から芦ノ湖方面に少し道路を上って観戦すると、二日目には遥か彼方から一直線に下ってくる選手たちを見ることができました。
先ほど出発前の大手町の様子をテレビで見ると、観客はほとんどいない状態でした。これだけステイホームを東京都知事をはじめ政府関係者が叫んでいる中で行われる箱根駅伝ですから、万が一にも感染が広がるようなことがあっては取り返しがつきません。
東京マラソンも秋まで延期されましたし、本来でしたら箱根駅伝も中止にするのが本当だと思います。ただ日本テレビの都合が一番の大きな要因なのではないでしょうか。オリンピックを是が非でも開催するという読売新聞の意向などを考えると、口ではステイホームと言いながらも営業第一というのが見え見えなのは本当に困ったものです。それが今の日本の現状なのです。
